Published Jun 11, 2011

LYON, France, June 11, 2011– Here at the IFT 11 Food Expo (Hall 2 Booth 7818), Rhodia is highlighting its industry-leading food-safe and sustainable technology for manufacturing Rhovanil® Extra Pure vanillin and Rhodiarome® Extra Pure ethyl vanillin. Rhodia’s facilities in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Saint-Fons, France, recently converted several steps of their manufacturing process to the use of food grade bio-ethanol as a solvent. This worldwide conversion is part of the environmentally responsible guaiacol, ex-catechol, route utilized at both facilities. This unique fully integrated process avoids the usage of unauthorized products such as toluene, features the lowest level of liquid effluents and ensures a very high consistency in purity of 99.97%.
