At VDI, SABIC Innovative Plastics Announces Exatec* R&D Center with World-Class Capabilities for Scratch-Resistant Auto Polycarbonate Glazing

MANNHEIM, Germany — March 17, 2010 — SABIC Innovative Plastics today announced here at the VDI conference the opening of its new Exatec Research & Development (R&D) Center in Bangalore, India. The new center is dedicated to the development of scratch- and abrasion-resistant technologies for high-performance automotive glazing applications. Simultaneously, the company launched its newest scratch and abrasion evaluation capabilities to be housed at the state-of-the-art center. These technologies include new methods and processes to differentiate, measure, test and prevent surface damage to polycarbonate (PC) glazing. Applications showing various Exatec coatings that address the industry’s scratch and abrasion challenges are on display in booth #74.
