SABIC is First Multinational Corporation to be Honored with China RoHS Certification for Sustainable Electronics Materials

Shanghai, China, Sep. 5, 2012- At a ceremony held in Shenzhen, China on July 25th, SABIC was officially recognized for Voluntary Pollution Control Certification for Electronic Information Products – an important China Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) certification – marking the first time a multinational corporation has ever been recognized for this achievement. Jointly presented by the Certification and Accreditation Administration of China (CAAC), the China Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), and the China Electronic Standardization Institute (CESI), the certification aims to control and reduce environmental pollution caused by the waste of electronic information products. SABIC’s voluntary participation in the process not only showcases the company’s environmental commitment in China, but also underscores how the company is proactively meeting global customer demand for world-class, environmentally responsible materials.
