Dow Corning Launches Power Electronics Industry’s First SiC Wafer Grading Structure, Raising the Bar for High Crystal Quality

Midland, Mich. – Dow Corning, a global leader in silicon and wide-bandgap semiconductor technology, today established a higher industry standard for silicon carbide (SiC) crystal quality by introducing a product grading structure that specifies ground-breaking new tolerances on killer device defects, such as micropipe dislocations (MPD), threading screw dislocations (TSD) and basal plane dislocations (BPD). Solvay Unveils New Halar® ECTFE Film Grades for Production of Front Sheets for Photovoltaic Modules

SHANGHAI, China, April 23, 2014 --Solvay Specialty Polymers has launched two new film grades of Halar® ethylene chlorotrifluoroethylene (ECTFE) that are specifically designed for front sheet applications for photovoltaic (PV) modules. Halar® PV ECTFE and Halar® ECTFE UV blocking technology mark Solvay’s entrance into PV front sheet applications.
